I love uncovering the stories hidden in data. Yet my experience has taught me that even the most complicated algorithms are only useful when they are trusted, understood, and used effectively. Therefore consider me a ‘translator’, connecting humans to IT.
Currently, as the Head of Research at PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, I coordinate the Smart ICT competence center. My team and I focus on translating state-of-the-art IT research into practical, accessible, and compliant solutions for the local IT sector. Before transitioning into applied academic leadership, I spent several years developing data infrastructure, predictive models, and LLM-based assistants.
Alongside my Master’s degrees from UGent and UHasselt, I am finalizing a PhD in Marketing Analytics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). My current research explores novel explainable and fair machine learning algorithms for behavioural analytics. Ultimately, my goal is to bridge the gap between rigorous statistical theory and production-ready engineering, always keeping the human end-user in focus.
